The Moon exerts a strong gravitational pull on Earth that causes the changing tides in our oceans and seas. This gravitational pull is strongest during the New Moon and Full Moon, during which time we experience the highest and lowest tides. Considering humans are made up of 60% water, it makes sense that the Moon would have a similar impact on us mostly-water beings. It's thought that during the New Moon and Full Moon, our emotions, like the tides, are pulled to the surface.

The New Moon is the beginning of the cycle and appears dark in the sky. Our energies may feel lower, but it is the perfect time to reset, recharge, and refocus.

Full Moon Practices: Bring Illumination Into Your Life
The Full Moon is the lunar phase when the Moon appears full from the Earth's perspective. It is a time of illumination (both literally and figuratively) to appreciate the fruits of your labor and observe things with more clarity.
Meditate In The Moonlight. Combine the tranquil energy of the Full Moon with a much-needed meditation. Meditation reduces stress, increases patience, and even improves sleep quality.
Release Habits That Don't Serve You. After looking back on the previous month, what patterns did you notice that hindered you from achieving the goals set during the New Moon? Did you scroll through social media to put off an impending deadline? Or perhaps you responded defensively to criticism. Allow yourself to notice your faults with compassion and think of ways to improve for the next month.
